Not A Universalist
I know that in a lot of my post, it may sound like I might be. Perhaps I am a hopeful universalist. That means my hope is that somehow, someway, God can and will convince every person who has ever lived to accept his love and grace.
Is that so wrong? Why wouldn’t any believer hope such a thing? We all have relatives and friends who don’t ever seem to figure out what is happening in this life. I have yet to find the verse in scripture that says you are out of options once you experience death. But why wait that long? Why take such a chance? Just because I haven’t found that scripture doesn’t mean it is not there.
I say, Repent! The KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS ON TOP OF US! When Jesus began his ministry he preached, “Repent! The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!” That was because He was announcing the arrival of God’s salvation. And He IS that salvation.
A new phase of His advancing Kingdom is now on top of us
Since the resurrection and his ascension and the coming of His Spirit into this world (Pentecost Acts 2:1-4), that Kingdom has advanced. And it seems today that we are living in a world where the value of life is something to spent like an old dollar bill (a waste) or something to be taken away by spiritual bullies and forces who use people with vulnerable minds to mercilessly kill others. Some victims have been trapped in classrooms or gathered to enjoy a concert, or anywhere else people may have gathered for fellowship. And even the shooter is a victim at some point in his/her life.
There is something more sinister going on here. So don’t forfeit the life the Lord is offering. You must choose to accept the gift (Jesus)! There is no Switzerland in this war between light and darkness. There is a battle for your soul. The things in this world are not worth your soul. You are way more valuable than you realize. The God who created all things in this universe LOVES YOU. He proved that when He sent the Son of God knowing full well that we would kill him.
There was more going on than meets the eye that day. There was a spiritual battle raging all around Him. Jesus was constantly provoking God’s enemies in the spirit realm. He provoked the religious leaders of his day. And He knew full well that His provocations would eventually lead to His death. Of course, “..the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they would not have crucified our glorious Lord (1 Corinthians 2:8 NLT).”
The rulers of darkness, the fallen angels, demons, and whatever else lives in that unseen world, are determined to destroy God and His people (us), they didn’t know that it was God’s plan to die. By dying, Jesus destroyed death itself. The Lord Jesus now holds the keys to death and hell.
I am the living one. I died, but look–I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave (Revelation 1:18 NLT).
You have to choose a side
I believe our time is drawing near. You must choose a side. God or this world. Good or Evil. Light or darkness. I believe God is good, always. I believe He loves every single person who was ever born, lived, died, and still living. He has chosen you, but, you must choose Him also. He will not force you.
If it helps you, say a simple prayer such as:
Lord, I don’t really know what is going on around me in the spirit realm, but, I put my trust in you now. I believe that Jesus came for me, died for me, and rose from the dead to save me. Today I choose you. Fill me with your Spirit and guide my life as you will. I choose life with you in the name of Jesus. Amen.
So, I am not a universalist. I believe God loves and wants to give life, peace, justice, and restoration to all people, but He will not force you to take it. The life you are living right now, today, is a clear indicator of where you stand. Are you with God? Or, are you with the adversary?
Repent! The Kingdom of Heaven is Right on Top of US!
Since this post, I have changed my mind. I am a universalist. I believe God can, and will save all people.
