I am 52 years old. For nearly 30 of those years I have been a Christian, though now I just refer to myself as a believer. I believe Jesus (the) Christ is the Son of God, the Messiah promised long ago in Jewish writings. I believe he rose from the dead 3 days after he was crucified. I believe he ascended into the heavens and is seated on the throne of his Father, and God of the universe. I believe he will return for all believers, and, those who don’t believe. We all belong to him. His return may not seem like a good thing to many, but for believers, it is something we all long for.

However, I believe most Christians aren’t awake to the perils that surrounds us everyday; the evil that hides in darkness and rules the governments of the world from behind the scenes; the hatred that resides in our own hearts, causing us to exclude and terrorize non-believers and believers alike with the power of fear; the dangers of not knowing what it is we believe, of not thinking for ourselves, of not investigating some of the belief systems and interpretations of scripture put before us Sunday and Saturday, week after week, year after year. We have been brainwashed, played, manipulated and controlled. Not only from the pulpits of America but also by the government and the media.

Not that black men aren’t being murdered by the police in the U.S., but, is it possible that powers behind the scenes are manipulating the masses through emotionally charged actions to bring about a new kind of control? Look at what is happening! Every time a racially charged incident like this happens, whether it involves the police or a white man shooting an unarmed black man, or whomever, they (evil behind the scenes), are trying to achieve a particular reaction, chaos, fighting in the streets, looting, property destruction, to bring about the need for Martial Law. They want this country to look just like the ruined cities of the Middle East!

I know it is a hard thing to resist but we MUST resist rioting in the streets and destroying our own cities. It will not serve us well and nothing good will come of it. If we give the powers that be the power of Martial law, we lose, and WE LOSE BIG TIME!

If you are a believer WAKE UP NOW! The time to pray is now! The time to know the one you call Lord is now! We must press in and know his heart. Violence is NOT his way. He proved that at the crucifixion.

I think we are in grave danger but, we serve the Mighty One, the One who overcame death.

There is a lot more I could say, and lots of scriptures I could throw around to prove my point, but not today. I sat down to write as a reaction to the recent police shootings in N. Charleston, SC, Baltimore, Md, and others. This trend of black men being killed by the law must be stopped, but it can’t be stopped by using violence. Even though we may outnumber them (the police), they have the weapons and the authority of law backing them. We need to change the laws. We won’t accomplish anything through violence.

Martin Luther King Jr. knew this. He taught us this non-violent way. Not even the King of the Universe used violence. The scriptures say he could have called legions of angels to rescue him. Violence begets violence. One of us has to stop. It worked before. It can work again.

That’s all I have to say. Here are some links to some sites I think are beneficial to growth, at least they have been for me.

The above links are 3 of my favorite ministries. There are many others. I also read a lot. I mean, A LOT. I am not afraid to think outside of tradition. I’m not afraid to look for truth in whatever direction the Spirit leads. Neither should you be afraid. You have the Spirit of God to keep you and lead you into all truth.

But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him.

I hope this post finds you well. May God bless you and your family.
