I have been looking at and posting a lot of videos, and sometimes I get caught up in the performance mentality that many of the video makers seem to have. I have been researching end time prophecy and many the teachings and peoples who are focused on the subject are adamant about being ready, and they stress it over and over. As a result, one may get caught in the mindset that there is “something I need to do” in order to prove I am a believer or, that I am worthy of salvation; PLEASE DON’T LEAVE ME BEHIND!
What I’m saying is that sometimes when reading prophecy teachings and watching videos on the subject we forget that it is still by grace that we have been saved, not by works that any man will be able to boast and say, I am worthy. GRACE! Still the blood of Jesus! Still by believing in the finished work of Christ! Still by trusting in the goodness of God!
Righteousness was accomplished by Jesus Christ on the cross. He gave His Righteousness and took our sin. He got rid of it. We have been set free. Our sin has been dealt with.
And so he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the eternal inheritance he has promised, since he died to set them free from the violations committed under the first covenant.(Heb 9:15)
As our representative, Christ has upheld and fulfilled the law. Just as Adam caused us all to be condemned, Christ has caused us all to be made alive. (Rom 5) Paul says that Christ was the heir of Abraham. He is the one who answered the covenant call and made the way for us to be justified. All we have to do is believe.
“..Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Now to the one who works, his pay is not credited due to grace but due to obligation. But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous, his faith is credited as righteousness. (Rom 4:3-5)
I take comfort in this verse because I was ungodly. Sometimes I still am. By now I have been made righteous through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. It is not about anything I do, or how I perform that makes me righteous. It is faith in the cleansing power of His blood.
Today I needed to refresh myself in this word. Jesus is coming but I have no need to fear. I belong to Him and that will never change. I am in Him and whatever He is, so am I. We have become one in Spirit.
Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Should I take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! Or do you not know that anyone who is united with a prostitute is one body with her? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.” But the one united with the Lord is one spirit with him. Flee sexual immorality! “Every sin a person commits is outside of the body”—but the immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body. (1Cor 6:15-20)
Peace to my brothers and sister who believe the message of Grace!~
