He is not an American. He is not a republican. He is not a democrat. He is not a Muslim or a Christian. He is not a Hindu or Buddhist. In fact, the only nation who can lay claim to him at all is the nation that He chose as a people for Himself. That nation is Israel. That is why He is called the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Abraham, whose name was Abram in the beginning, was the son of Terah of the Chaldeans. The Lord came to Abram and said to him; “Get out of your country, from your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.” (Genesis 12:1) This was the beginning of faith for Abraham.

Throughout his life, from that point, Abram strived to believe God. When God promised him he would be the father of many nations God changed his name to Abraham, which means exactly that, father of many nations. He also changed the name of his wife from Sarai to Sarah. She was to be the mother of nations (Genesis 17).

God promised to make a nation from the descendants of Abraham. You might ask, what about Ishmael, the other son? Ishmael was born to Abram, not Abraham. Ishmael was born as a result of Abram and Sarai trying to create an heir out of their own strength. God had promised them a son before but, Sarai had been unable to give Abram children. Ishmael was the son of Abram and, his mother was Sarai’s slave girl, Hagar, whom she had given to Abram in an effort to give him a son. Ishmael was not the son God had promised to Abram. God then had to make it clear that He intended to give Abram a son, by his wife, Sarai. It was at this time that He changed both of their names and told them that they would have a son, and, his name was to be Isaac.

It is through the promised son Isaac that the nation of Israel comes. Most of the rest of the Arab nations come from the son of Sarai’s slave girl Hagar. His name was Ishmael. Isaac came as a result of Abraham believing God. Ishmael came because Abram had not believed God concerning his descendants.

Isaac’s son was Jacob. God changed his name to Israel after he wrestled with God. (Genesis 32:28) Jacob means deceiver. Jacob was the younger brother who took his oldest brother’s birthright through deception. It was Jacob (Israel) and his twelve sons and their families that ended up in Egypt because of a famine in the land of Canaan. Egypt is where the nation of Israel grew into a great multitude of people. Egypt is where the nation of Israel was enslaved and mistreated. God used Moses to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt. It is after this that the Lord begins to mold a multitude of slaves into a nation that would enter into the land he had promised to their ancestors, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the land of Israel.

God is the God of Israel and all the rest of the world. However, he chose Israel as the nation he would use to reveal himself to the rest of the world. They were the ones to whom he gave his law, the Torah. The prophets came through Israel. And more importantly, the messiah came through the nation of Israel.

Christians, the God you believe in is the God of Israel. He has not turned his back on them because of the crucifixion or any other reason. Remember there were more than Jews at the crucifixion. The Messiah died for the sins of the world. That means that we all had a part in the death of the Messiah. The Messiah was the Son of God, and, He came here to die, to pay the price for the sins of all men. When he rose from the dead He made it possible for all men and women to come to God in spite of our sin. By His blood, we are made clean. He was God’s perfect lamb, the perfect sacrifice that takes away the sin of the world (John 1:36).

I just want to remind believers everywhere that more than anything we need to pray. In America, things are changing rapidly. We are all concerned that we are about to lose our nation. It is understandable that people would rise up to make their voices heard. It is only natural that we would be up in arm about the evil we believe the government is doing to the nation. And yes, I believe Christians should be involved in the politics of the nations. However, I believe that nothing will change until we Christians, as a people, will fall on our faces before God a pray.

The problems in America are not political they are spiritual. We need to be praying for the salvation of our nation and it’s leaders. Only then will it be possible for the right things to be done. America has lost its way. We are moving away from God and that is the reason we are seeing such destructive policies in Washington today. Unless men’s hearts are right with God there is no way we can expect them to do the right thing.

We must also be praying for the Nation of Israel. They are the people who belong to the God we serve. We need to pray for their salvation. We need to pray for their safety from the Arab nations who intend to wipe them off the face of the earth. Peace in Israel is peace for the rest of us. Satan sees us (Christians and Israel) as one. He intends to destroy both of us.

We need to get a right perspective. God is not an American. He is not a republican. He is not a democrat. He is not a Muslim or a Christian. He is not a Hindu or Buddhist. He is the God of all nations. He is the God of the universe and he will judge men and angels. It is according to his will that all things will be done.

Having said all of that I leave you with this. Pray for America and the Nations of the World! Salvation. There is only one race living on the earth, the race of men. They are divided into two groups, the wicked and the righteous.

The Lord is known for his justice. The wicked are trapped by their own deeds. The wicked will go down to the grave. This is the fate of all nations who ignore God (Psalms 9:16-17).

If you have never given your life to the Lord and put your trust in Him you need to do so. If you are living a sinful life repent. God has done you a great service by sending His Son Yeshua(Jesus)to die in man’s place. It was us who should have died and gone to hell for our sin. Instead, the Son of God came and took our place. This was done out of love. The book of John, chapter 3, verse 16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

That means you don’t have to go to hell. It means you can count on God to take care of you in this life. You have to trust Him. All you have to do is ask Him to forgive your sin, turn from your sin and do what is right, and, from His Word draw strength for your new life in Christ.
