The bible tells us in 2 Timothy 2:15 to “study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

I recently enrolled at the Koinonia Institute. I want to get a more serious about God’s word so I thought I would enroll with an online bible class since I’m always at the computer in my spare time anyway. What drew me to this institute was Dr. Chuck Missler. I don’t remember how I found out about a teaching he did on the Nephilim (giants of old in the bible) but, after seeing the presentation I wanted to know more about his ministry which is how I found out about Koinonia.

As I have stated in other articles on the site the Word of God is the foundation of faith. There is no way you can have faith in God if you don’t know what He has promised in His Word. “So then faith come by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Rom 10:17). It is not only that I want to grow in faith, I want to know God better. I need to change. I need to grow. I need to know Him. I hope that by taking some bible class I can deepen my understanding. My relationship with God is important to me. I want the Lord to know that I am serious about the relationship.

The Koinonia Institute is about creating disciples. My first class is an introduction to spiritual disciplines. The class objectives are as follows:

  • To study our Jewish roots and the meaning behind being a Telmidin
  • To understand the Sh’ma
  • To focus on prayer
  • To evaluate the importance of community, small groups, and fellowship
  • To study the “Purity of God’s Word” – Pastor Joe Focht
  • To review and analyze the Statement of Faith of the Institute

The class starts on Feb 2. I look forward to getting started.
