God: You have been judging yourself lately because of things you did when you were a child, a teenager, a young man, but a child nonetheless. You didn’t know any better. Your sins are forgiven. Stop judging yourself. A time of reconciliation and recompense will come, but for now, let go of your self-judgment and live the life I have given you. All things will be set right at the prescribed time.

I am again faced with the possibility that the prophetic writings of the “Revelation” of Jesus Christ have already been fulfilled in 70 A.D. Yet it seems like it is unfolding in the world right now. I wish I had more understanding. One thing I know for sure, the judgment of humanity’s sin has already occurred at the cross and the resurrection. Jesus has taken away the sin of the world.

Having said that, will the world one day be better than it is right now? We seem to keep repeating our history. However, I feel like we live in a better world than the one Jesus was born into. Also, perhaps every era since the resurrection has been progressively better than the last. I really hope that is the case.

I don’t understand politics or economics, or any of the crap we have going on in the world. I do care about whether it is getting better or worse for EVERYONE. I don’t only care about the people in the United States, I care about people all over the world. Do they have enough to eat? Do they have a safe place to live and raise their children? I care about what we, as one of the wealthier nations, do to help people in other countries who lack these things.

Of course, if we are not taking care of the people here who need help, we can’t help the rest of the world. If we don’t care enough about our own homeless people, how can we care about the poor in other nations? We have some serious issues here in the United States. Our President has upended the way politics work. It feels apocalyptic. Will we get through this, or will it develop into something even worse?

I try not to listen to all the noise. I try to look past the blatant hatred that seems to be spilling out into the streets all over America. I keep praying for the atrocities happening in Gaza to stop. I’m wondering when allies of Ukraine will stand up and do something about the Ukraine-Russia war. Will we end up in a war ourselves? There is a lot of freaking noise in the world right now! I’m getting tired.

I pray for peace in the world. Let all in Christ pray and stand up against tyranny in the world. We have the victory in Christ. No weapon and no force can stand against the Kingdom of God!
